Zin·ni·a; noun - Omaha startup providing the locals with beautiful bouquet creations.
If you were to ask anyone that knows me even remotely well to create a list of things that I love I can guarantee that everyone would place flowers within the top three and guess what guys... they are SO right. I have always loved flowers to an extreme degree from gardens to bouquets to pictures and prints on clothing to rose water facial sprays to saches and yes of course perfumes and candles. The point to all of this rambling is.... Zinnia, a local floral marketplace.
I am trying to come up with an easy concise way to explain what Zinnia is... but it is getting a bit lengthly as you can see. Essentially it is this super slick website that provides you with about five or so different arrangement options to pick from you select the one you love, plug in the delivery address, write up a cute little note to include pay and BOOM - DONE. It is so easy and wonderful. The best part (and kind of the whole point) is that you are not overwhelmed with different options! The second best part for all of us that are super procrastinators is that they don't have huge delays to get things delivered, let's say you really wanted to send your Mother in law flowers for her birthday and you wake up and guess what.... it's her birthday - no problem, they can be delivered same day with no extra fees. What else do I love about them you wonder? No terrible vases! I absolutely detest those cheap clear vases you get when you have flowers delivered they just accumulate under your sink and are awful. Zinnia delivers theirs with these little water vials on the ends of the stems and all wrapped up in burlap.
Zinnia consists of three men that started to think about the floral industry and just didn't like what they saw. Now a days if you don't like something you can strive to change it and they sure are, in a world that includes AirBnB, Uber and online grocery shopping as everyday things it shouldn't be too surprising that the floral delivery process is getting a face life as well. They have also just launched locally curated boxes that have all sorts of goodies in them from some local artists / vendors I have written about already. I am just so stoked to see my favorite people all collaborating. These boxes are the PERFECT solution for a great Valentines Day gift for your honey, they have two boxes currently one that works for the ladies The Sweetheart and one for the gents The Charmer. Honestly I am thinking of buying one for myself, why not right? : )
