August Faves // 2015
August was a month filled with all sorts of adventures and I just loved it! From FINALLY picking out a new place to live, getting a fresh cut at Lark, a week long escape to Chicago and lastly visiting a new esthetician that I just know is going to help fix all of my skin problems! Ahhhh! It was a fun, busy, fast, exciting, wonderful month! More to follow about most of these topics in future posts! : ) Here are five things that I loved about this month, in no particular order!
Can I be on vacation all of the time? Please? Getting away for a week or so every once and awhile just does the mind good. Life can be pretty stressful and exploring a new place can just put everything into perspective. We rented an apartment through AirBnB in the Roger's Park Neighborhood of Chicago and spent the week pretending to be locals, it was wonderful.
About two or so years ago James wanted to make a New Year's resolution to only go to locally owned restaurants and me being the negative Nancy that I am thought we / I would fail miserably. Fast forward to last month when we tried out three new places over the course of two weekends and loved everything about all of them, since then I have been contemplating his idea. I would probably miss a few "chain" places but all in all it would be a really cool project to attempt.
I think I have raved about this new style of mine so much lately, hopefully you all are not too annoyed yet. I just love it so much, feel free to read my post all about Jerica and Lark by clicking on the link!
Have we discussed how I am really, really, REALLY bad about unpacking. Like seriously, THE WORST! Being that the case when we got back from a week in Chicago it took me another week to unpack our suitcase. It was really quite sad because it took me about five minutes once I actually set out to empty the bag. During this time all of my day to day skincare items stayed packed away so I turned to two items that tend to collect dust on my shelves St. Ives Green Tea Scrub and Clinique's Moisture Surge Gel Lotion. These are products that I normally use in the winter months and for good reason, they are perfect for dehydrated skin that is freaking out. This scrub isn't super gritty and rough at all it has a super fine texture that is great at removing flaky, dry skin. Oh, and it smells so good! Now to get to this lotion I mentioned. It is super moisturizing, it plumps your skin up within a few minutes and it stays that way through the day and it is great for sensitive and picky skin. I am about out of both of these right now and am adding them to my shopping list again for sure!
