Product Review // Ayesha - LUSH Fresh Face Mask
Hey-O! I made another trip into our shiny brand new LUSH location to pick up a bottle of James' favorite body wash Flying Fox before it is all out of stock, we saw an Instagram post a few Monday's ago indicating that they are discontinuing it so off to LUSH I went the next day. Since I was already there I figured I would buy one of the fresh face mask's but since it was Tuesday and they receive their shipments on Thursday's I had only two to pick from and as you can tell by the title of this post I went with the Ayesha mask. According to the website this mask is suppose to tighten and tone more mature skin, now this is not something that I am really worried about myself but it also contains kiwi (vitamin C) to help brighten dull spots, asparagus to absorb excess oil and honey to hydrate and help take away redness now these are all things that I actually find appealing. I went ahead and used this right away on Tuesday night but I used it incorrectly the package specifically indicated that you are to apply the mask and remove it around ten minutes later BEFORE it dries, here is where I messed up, I got caught up in an episode of Gossip Girl and about 30 minutes later after it was 100% dry I washed it off.
I really did not like the results because I really did not have any, I definitely noticed that my face was tightened, toned and plumper (in a good way) but the other results that I was looking for... not so much, the effects of this mask were gone by morning. I decided to give it another go again for fairness sake a week or so later. This time I applied the mask and waited about 15 minutes. Since I had applied a fairly thick layer it was just beginning to dry in some spots. Washing it off was so much easier this time around just some warm water for a few minutes and done, last time I had to scrub at it with a warm wet wash cloth for what felt like forever. Once again I was left with supple and freshly plumped up skin, it even felt like I had just moisturized! Now back to the the list of possible results listed on the website... this mask will help tighten, tone, brighten dull spots, hydrate and remove redness. This mask did three of those for my skin it most definitely tightened, toned and hydrated but as far as brightening dull spots and removing redness its a no go. This mask is much better suited for those with more mature oily skin types from what I can tell, those of us with mid-20s oily skin not so much sadly, although lucky for us LUSH has a whole lot of other masks to chose from! I shall head back that way here soon and pick up another to try out!
