Did we just start a club?! What?! Yes!!

Saturday was crazy in Omaha with the Berkshire Hathaway annual shareholders meeting in full swing the city was bustling with tourists and locals enjoying the beautiful weekend weather. Two pretty sweet things happened right at the start of my Saturday.

Jill from heyjillianchristine.com, Kathleen from thinking-smaller.com and I met up in the Old Market to talk about starting a PASTRY CLUB! Thats right... a pastry club. We will be creating a list of local bakeries / coffee shops to check out in the area. Stay tuned for more adventures with these lovely ladies!

The first place on the list ended up being the Old Market location of Aromas / Bliss Bakery. This place is awesome. It is one that I have gone to quite a lot since it is just a few blocks down the street from where I live. I had a cranberry almond scone and a Cubano this time around. SO GOOD! They have the best scones I have ever tried. For sure a must try place here in Omaha.

Then off to the the first farmers market of the season with Jill! I have made it a to goal to get to the market as much as I can this year. It is always fun to walk around and just check out the new stands. After a quick walk around to check out all of the stalls Jill and I made our way back to the egg roll stand and tried out the vegetable egg rolls, the description didn't sound amazing to me because they had green beans in them (I have never had green beans in egg rolls before, maybe this is more common and I just don't know about it.) but let me tell you, not weird at all. The outside was perfectly crispy and hot whilst the veggies inside were crunchy and lightly seasoned as an added bonus they also had noodles in them that just added to all the deliciousness.

Such a lovely Saturday morning spent with Jill and our new friend Kathleen!
