May Faves // 2015
This is being posted well later than I had anticipated but the life of a twenty something sometimes has crazy things going on like getting caught up on the last four episodes of Game of Thrones and celebrating a wedding anniversary or you know the normal things like work, going to the gym and the ever so exciting being told by your doctor to stop eating gluten and cut down on the carbs (still not happy about this, BTW) but here we are four days into June with my favorite products from the month of May. This past month I was pleasantly reminded that Target carries some great products that I had not been checking out lately due to my on-going obsession with Sephora but now that I have regained this knowledge my debit card (or you know... my husband) and I will probably get along a little better after a day of shopping.
If I am remembering correctly I only used a mascara other than the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara twice this month and both times it was a forceable occurrence, mostly me talking to myself about how I should really use one of the other mascaras that I own before they dry out! Ha! Anyways, I LOVE THIS STUFF, the brush weirded me out at first I was worried that it was going to clump my lashes together into thick spidery lashes and the first time I used it I hated it because IT DID JUST THAT but I gave it another chance and I am happy to say it has not caused me such distrust again.
I have pretty oily skin and struggle to find a setting powder that will keep my face in place for a whole work day, most will only make it about half way through. This stuff though... it works! Once again at first I did not trust it, how could a $4.00 powder work better than the $30.00 stuff that I normally use, doubtfully I went ahead and tried it and guess what... when I glanced in the mirror after my lunch break I was pleasantly surprised.
In my opinion the only thing that annoys me about this concealer is the fact that it is only made in about five shades. It works so well at hiding spots and staying put through the day. I have even bought one to keep in my purse since it is a great on the go product as well!
About a month or so ago I decided it was time to become a big girl and actually properly take care of my skin, no more I am so tired before bed excuses. I have tried a few micellar waters in the past and this one truly blows the others out of the water (pun intended) this is the first step of my nightly routine and I will be sticking to using this until someone can prove another one better.
I, Anna, hate sweating. There is next to nothing worse than being smelly and sweaty, well other than being face to face with a snake or something of that sort. I have trialled all sorts of deodorants / antiperspirants ranging from making my own to this stuff that I use now that will probably give me cancer (no lie, hopefully not though) I have been using either Dove or Degree for about a year now and overall really like them both then this new / old trend of aerosol cans came back into style and here I am (typically obsessed with saving the earth from landfills) buying it but once again not to sound like a broken record... it is so good I am loving it! It dries quickly, doesn't leave marks and my favorite part it smells good and works ALL DAY not just like a regular work day a go to work then the gym kind of day, it is great!
