#feelingcrafty Nº 1 // Bath Salts
Sometimes I like to make things (Pinterest addict) and typically when I do those around me receive gifts (why I don't use things myself I do not know) so heads up lucky ladies a couple of you will be getting these here in the next couple of days. Hope you enjoy! : )
- Corse Sea Salt
- Epsom Salts
- Baking Soda
- Essential Oils
- Food Coloring (if desired, I wish I would have not used any)
Step 1: In a large bowl mix 1 cup sea salt 1/2 cup epsom salts and 1/4 cup baking soda. I made three different scents, this was the base I started with for each of them.
Step 2: Add in a few drops of essential oils and mix. How much really depends on how strong of a scent you like / are okay with. I personally like a lot of scent in my bath salts so I used about 30 drops or so. I was very experimental with my oil selection I mixed lavender and cedar wood for one of them and it turned out really well another I went overboard with and used eucalyptus, peppermint and tea tree oil and let me tell you if you have a cold this is what you need! I think my favorite was rosemary and lemongrass though, just a whiff of that and I start to relax.
Step 3: Add a few drops of food coloring in and mix again. I attempted to do this in a bowl (bad idea) I ended up putting the mixture into a sealed mason jar and shaking it up. This worked so much better!
Step 4: Make sure to store in a container that will keep out moisture. I opted for some cute little mason jars and with scrapbooking paper used to cover the top of the lids. If I was feeling SUPER adventurous I would have pulled out my stamps and marked what each of them were, but I was being lazy, so I didn't.
