#feelingcrafty Nº 2 // Terrarium

Succulents and terrarium's go hand in hand like raw milk and chocolate chip pecan cookies or almond butter and apple jelly sandwiches. I made an attempt last week at making my first terrarium and while it did not turn out like I thought it would I still like it quite a lot!

Items Needed:

  • Pea Gravel
  • Activated Carbon
  • Potting Soil for Cacti
  • Peat Moss
  • Perlite
  • Succulents

Drainage Level:

Add a layer of pea gravel then top it with activated carbon. The purpose of the carbon is to keep the terrarium odor free. The measurements should be about three parts of gravel to one part of carbon.

Soil Level:

Take two parts soil, one part perlite and one part peat moss then mix them all up and add to the top of the drainage level! Make sure to lightly moisten the soil mixture but be careful to not over soak it.

Add in some succulents and TA-DA! You've got yourself a terrarium!
